My visit to BFX 2014

Today, I went to the BFX at the Bournemouth International Centre in order to find out about the possible opportunities from working in the digital media industries. The types of media I would love to work with the most are film and TV; this was why going to the BFX  provided me with a lot of new and useful information for potentially working in these industries in the future.

It was also interesting to hear that some of the animation and games companies present (e.g. Media Molecule, Blue Zoo) may soon be hiring qualified BU graduates as professional animators. Overall, I had a great time at the BFX, the people there spoke about their topics and jobs with a clear passion and enthusiasm that makes me more interested in studying Digital Media Design.

Hi there! Welcome to Robin Osolinski’s official DMD blog!

You are reading the first post by Robin Osolinski, a first year student who will be studying Digital Media Design at Bournemouth University. Welcome to my blog!

After all these years of experience with Media studies, it’s such a relief to know I’ve finally made into the course that I’ve wanted to be a part of for a long time now. So far, my thoughts of the university itself are very good and I love the opportunities  that it has already provided for me when it comes to  using specialist software and equipment.

The staff and students are very friendly and they all have a clear passion and enthusiasm for what they will be a part of for the next few years. I look forward to all of the group tasks and activities that will help me to meet and get to know my fellow students who share my interests for this course and subject.

I plan to make the most out of what the course offers, after hearing and reading about the numerous and incredible opportunities it has already provided for the students who have already graduated!
